Insect Audio · A new kind of voice memo
Record it.
Find it.
Amber tags every recording the moment you stop: tempo, key, instrument, a full transcript. No naming, no folders, no digging through 200 files called “New Recording 187” ever again.

Recording was never the hard part.
Recording a musical idea was never the hard part. Voice Memos already does that in one tap. Finding it again is.
Three months from now, you need that riff. It's buried in a pile of recordings named by a clock, not by what's actually in them. So you stop trusting the archive, and eventually you stop recording at all, because what's the point.
Amber exists for exactly that moment: three months from now, when you actually need to find it.
What Amber Does
Tag it once.
Never lose it again.
01 / The Second You Stop
Tags Everything, Automatically
- Tempo (BPM) and key, detected on the spot
- Instrument recognition: guitar, piano, voice, drums
- A full transcript of anything you said out loud
- A real title instead of “New Recording 214”
02 / Then Actually Finds It
Search That Works
- Filter by BPM range, key, or instrument
- Full-text search across every transcript: search “bridge” and find the take where you said “idea for the bridge, slower,” even if you never typed a word
- A calendar view of your whole recording history, at a glance
03 / Built For The Moment
How Ideas Actually Happen
- One press of the Action Button, and Amber's already recording before you've even opened the app
- A pre-roll buffer means the first two seconds are never lost, even if you hit record a beat late
- Tempo and pitch playback, decoupled: slow a riff down to work out what you actually played, without dropping the pitch

Private By Design
Not as an afterthought.
Every bit of analysis (tempo, key, instrument, transcription) happens entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded. No account, no sign-in, nothing sent anywhere, ever. Your recordings stay yours, the same principle behind everything Insect Audio builds.

No subscription. Ever.
One app. Amber will never ask you to pay monthly to keep using what you already recorded. It's the same anti-subscription stance behind every Insect Audio product.
Currently free to download. The price will later move to a one-time €0.99, but anyone who's already installed it keeps it free, forever.
From The Makers Of The Glockfather
Amber is Insect Audio's second product: tools for musicians, built by musicians, without forced subscriptions and without your data leaving your device. If that's a stance you already like from the plugins, this is the same team applying it to the other half of making music, capturing the idea in the first place.

Questions, answered.
- Does Amber need an internet connection?
- No. Recording, tagging, and search all work fully offline. Everything runs on your device.
- Is my audio ever uploaded anywhere?
- No. Amber has no server and no account system. Nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share a recording yourself.
- Does it replace Voice Memos?
- It can. Amber records just as easily as Voice Memos, but that's not really the point. The point is never losing what you recorded in the first place.
- What if the automatic tags are wrong?
- Two taps fixes it, and your correction is never overwritten by a later re-analysis.
- Is there an Android version?
- Not currently. Amber is iOS-only (iOS 26+) for now.
